Planted in the mid-1990s, across 1.1 hectares, the Ancient Sea vineyard reaches 520m above sea level. Grown in soils deposited over 450 million years ago by ancient Ordovician period seas the complex mix of mudstone, clay, sandstone and quartz are an excellent match to Chardonnay. The vines grow with moderate vigour and 500m+ elevation ensures cold nights that preserve natural grape acids.
Fermentation took place in French oak barriques, (25% new and 25% 1 year old), and was followed by 8 months maturation prior to blending and bottling.
A bright combination of citrus and yellow fruit aromas are complemented by crushed stone and flinty hints. With the plush mid-weight palate matched to a vibrant line of juicy acidity. The quietly powerful finish is seamless and persistent.
A Chardonnay that speaks of its Scotsburn, Central Victorian Highlands home: fresh, plush, quietly textural and finely balanced.

In Gaelic, Turas speaks to journey, an apt reflection of the last 45 plus vintages spent seeking great Pinot Noir, for us it represents the wine of the vintage.
Grown on our 1.5 hectare close-planted, east-facing vineyard, in rocky weathered volcanic soils it is a wine of energy and structure. The soils owe their origin to Mt Buninyong, specifically the Clarendon Lava Flow that erupted 125,000 years ago.
Aromas and flavours of red cherry, rose petal and a spicy forest floor character are matched on the silky textured palate to graphite-like tannins and a fine line of natural acidity. Matured for 11 months in 500L French oak puncheons, with 27% new oak, the fruit, tannin and acid combination drive a long and flavoursome finish.
While immediately compelling for its vibrancy and finesse, Turas possesses the inherent structure and quiet power that will reward cellaring, gaining complexity, savoury depth and refinement over time.

We planted our vineyard in 2012 into the remnant soils of the Clarendon lava flow, a 6km flow extending south-east from Mt Buninyong formed by an eruption approximately 125,000 years ago. Known locally as the “chocolate soils”, these dark, rocky soils are prized for their fertility and cursed for their rocky composition.
Across 1.5 hectares, the vineyard is close-planted at 1m x 1.5m in a north-west to south-east row orientation on an east-facing slope that rises to 500 metres. The elevation brings a pronounced diurnal temperature range via cold nights that preserve natural acidity, while the rocky foundation lends depth, fine mineral tension and the structure for graceful cellaring.
Matured for 11 months in 500L puncheons, the final blend was drawn from select barrels of MV6 (70%) and Pommard (30%), with 30% new French oak.
Sustainably farmed and thoughtfully made, this wine speaks with clarity of its place. It is an expressive wine that reflects our corner of wine country.

Rising to 530 metres above sea level, the Ancient Sea vineyard grows in the remnant soils of Ordovician seas deposited more than 450 million years ago. A mix of mudstone, sandstone, quartz and clay, these old goldfields soils combined with 500m+ elevation ensure a Pinot Noir of fragrance, detail and a clear sense of place.
Planted in the mid-1990s across just 0.9 hectares, this small site consistently produces pure Pinot Noir with lifted red fruit aromas and fine structure. The medium-bodied palate balances sweet fruit to fresh natural acidity and fine tannins.
Carefully crafted in both vineyard and winery, it captures the natural affinity between this elevated site and Pinot Noir. Its inherent balance is elegant now but will build complexity with careful cellaring.
It is a compelling expression of cool-climate Pinot Noir.

Long before the 2025 vintage, Scotsburn Pinot Noir had a loyal but quiet following. Now it’s time to let the genie out of the bottle. Our Village Pinot Noir is bright, supple and wonderfully easy to enjoy, with fresh red cherry and raspberry like characters, a gentle fruit sweetness through the mid-palate, and fine acid and tannin bringing shape and lift.
A blend from two neighbouring vineyards just 200 metres apart: one planted on Ordovician soils in the mid-1990s, that brings pretty aromatics and purity, and the other close-planted on volcanic soils in 2012, adding depth and quiet power.
Matured for 11 months in 500L puncheons, the final blend comes from select barrels of MV6 (82%), 777 (15%) and Pommard (3%), with 25% new French oak.
Sustainably farmed and carefully made, this is a wine that speaks clearly of its home. It’s made for shared tables, good food and the easy company of friends. Cheers.
